This is live audio from my radio scanner in northwest Las Vegas. The scanner is set up to receive air band frequencies around the Las Vegas Valley, on a discone antenna. At any time, one or more of the following sets of frequencies may be scanning (KLAS is Harry Reid International Airport):
- KLAS Tower
- KLAS Approach
- KLAS Departure
- KLAS Ground and ramp control
- Airline operations at KLAS
- Miscellaneous air
- Helicopters
- Henderson Airport
- North Las Vegas Airport
- Other airports: Boulder City and Desert Rock
- Military air: Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases and the Nevada Test and Training Range
- Common U.S. military air frequencies
- Civil Air Patrol
- Air shows: Thunderbirds, Blue Angels and other demonstration teams
A scanner steps quickly through a list of channels and stops whenever someone is talking, so what you hear jumps from one conversation to the next, with quiet stretches in between. The display below shows the channel it has stopped on while someone is talking, and SCANNING the rest of the time. You can listen and watch, but the scanner itself can't be controlled from here.
During certain weather events in the area, this scanner may be set to NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts from the National Weather Service.
Uniden BCT15X
Up to 10 listeners at a time. Silence between transmissions is normal.
At times the display may not be completely in step with the audio.
If nothing plays when you press Listen, all 10 spots may be taken or the scanner may be offline. Please try again a little later.
